Sixth Form Gold DofE Expedition

Sixth Form Gold DofE Expedition

The team persevered through a tough weekend of walking last month. Battling the mud, rain and the dark, we pulled together, each bringing our own skills to the table to get the job done. With some excellent map reading from every member of the team, we managed to stay on track, for the majority of the trip! With Ellen providing the comedy after what Harry would call 'slipping' and the rest of the team 'pushing over' in the mud; we manged to find a laugh even when blisters made complaining tempting. On the last day we were motivated to finish our trek (and get home for a shower), so manged to complete the final leg of the journey in half the time we had planned for. We were welcomed at the minibus by some delicious home-made cupcakes and the much desired Welsh cakes promised at the start of the walk, Thanks to Harriet's Great Aunt, which became the team's drive that pushed us to complete the 50 kilometres. We crashed out fast asleep on the bus ride home, knowing we were all well prepared to complete our Gold expedition in July.
