Co-curricular Activities

Speech and Drama

Whether your passion is for the stage or you are happier in the Tech box, there are activities to suit all age groups and tastes. At various times of the year, rehearsals for major productions or competitions take centre stage. Debating is another popular pastime at all levels, with opportunities to take part in inter-house and external competitions. Public Speaking is taught as a timetabled lesson for all students until the end of Year 9 and is also offered as an extracurricular activity. This helps students foster strong research, oratory and listening skills that will be vital for their future success at university, their personal lives and careers.

Dance

Dance classes are open to everyone and include choreography, performance, ballet, tap, contemporary, street dance, Jazz, and ballroom.

Visual Arts

From ‘Make and Do’ and sketching club in the Junior Wing to photography and screen printing in the Mansion House, Art is an important part of the extracurricular offering at Reddam House. Photography, screen printing, sculpture, textiles, watercolours, oils and much more allow students to enjoy some creative downtime in the magnificent art studios.

We also offer animation, movie-making, art and media.

Sports

With a fantastic range of facilities on offer, our Sports Department provide a rich and varied activities programme. Our younger Juniors have the opportunity to take part in skills development clubs honing their techniques to join the more sport-specific clubs for the older pupils.

Depending on the season, match practice may be supplemented with tennis, athletics, and cross-country running. Swimming clubs and teams practice early morning and afternoons with students benefitting from professional coaching advice. We also offer scuba diving, mountain biking and golf.

Academic Enrichment

Sometimes, you just enjoy a subject so much, that you cannot get enough of it! Maths Clubs for all ages, Science Crest Awards and Creative Writing offer an opportunity to explore your passions outside of the curriculum while taking your skills to the next level.

In our Junior School, we offer verbal and non-verbal reasoning practice, great for developing flexibility of approach, vocabulary and patterning skills. Regular practice of timed papers helps hone examination skills too.

We also offer drop-in sessions for students who may want to review material with a member of staff or to gain further practice in a subject area.

Computing

Coding, robotics, website design and creating apps are all useful skills to have in today’s world. Utilising iPads and Surface Pro technology our students can start to build these skills developing proficiencies in these important and creative areas.

Just for Fun!

From Book groups, Bread Making, Brainiacs Challenges, Warhammer, Chess or board games, sometimes the only thing you want to do is relax and have fun. We have a range of clubs on offer which provide an escape from the busy day and time with friends.
